A new school year begins, let’s see how we will organize it.

 WORKING WITH HISTORICAL SOURCES

Part of the work of historians and people who studies History consists on analysing historical sources. In this document you will find the steps you should follow to analyse a map, a text and a picture:

UNIT 1: THE OLD REGIME AND THE AGE OF REASON.

Here you have the full unit with engaging activities to learn it.

Now it’s time to challenge your knowledge about the Old Regime, the Enlightenment and the first Spanish Bourbon kings.

 

UNIT 2: THE AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE AND THE FRENCH REVOLUTION.

In this unit we’ll use a different methodology called flipped classroms, this means, that you’ll have to watch two short videos at home and we will work on them in class.

We have finished the firs two units and its time to participate in an interesting project in which we’ll use Twitter and Instagram to study.

UNIT 3: NATIONALISM AND LIBERALISM.

This unit is divided in two parts, the first one dedicated to Europe, the Restoration, the Revolutionary waves and the unification of Italy and Germany and the second one dedicated to the 19th century in Spain: Ferdinand VII and Isabella II.


UNIT 4

In this unit, divided in 9 points, we will study the first and the second industrial revolutions, the causes for the revolution, the technical innovations and the new society that appear thanks to these changes.

READING BOOK: “1984”. George Orwell

 

We’ll use this book to study  the Totalitarian regimes, Italy,  the Soviet Union and the III Reich.

The methodology used is a PBL. The students will have to escape from the Room 101 working as a team, solving different questions, investigating and creating their own project.

WOMEN & ART

When we study art, we usually overlooked women. It’s time to  recognised those  women’s work and discover the art movements of the 19th and 20th centuries, through the eyes of some of its most important female artists.
