Asterix and Cleopatra (1968)

Popular animated hero Asterix and his faithful sidekick Obelix travel to ancient Egypt to help Cleopatra build a new summer home. Cleopatra and Julius Caesar have made a bet, with Caesar wagering the project cannot be completed in a few weeks time. With the help of a magic potion, Asterix comes to the rescue of the Queen of the Nile as Caesar and an angry architect plot against them.

The pillars of the Earth

A TV miniseries, adapted from Ken Follett‘s novel of the same name. Like the novel on which it is based, the miniseries centres on the construction of a cathedral in the fictitious town of Kingsbridge during a tumultuous period of English history known as The Anarchy in the 12th century.

World Without End

Tv series based on the homonymous novel writen by Ken Follet. Takes place in Kingsbridge (England) in the Middle Ages during the Hundred Years War and the Black Death. Very useful to understand the Middle Ages in Europe, the Feudalism, the relationships between lords and vassals, the role of the Church and the crisis of the 14th century.
